    My Bethlehem Gifting Adventure

The hustle and bustle of the Holiday season has begun! The countdown is on! If you are like me, you are just starting to gather the perfect gifts for all of the people on your list. On my Christmas list I find it hardest to shop for Dad (he is #1), an adopted shelter family, and my boss. That’s why it’s even better to shop local because there is something for everyone!

As your Fashion Contributor, I thought I would do a little shopping for you. That is one thing I love to do: shop! Here is my gifting adventure. I hope you seek out these charming places with unique treasures as well. Most of you know South Side now hosts Christkindlmarkt (which is fantastic). But don’t miss out on all that the North Side has to offer—it’s a lot of great shops with very kind owners!

I start my shopping in the North Street parking garage. This garage offers a wonderful heated pass. I can pop into AM Luxe on my way to Main Street and a drink at Edge Restaurant (celebrating my gifting wins) on my way back to the car.

LEFT: The Gem Shop. MIDDLE: North Street Garage. RIGHT: Donegal Square.

LEFT: Bone Appetit. MIDDLE: Clusters Popcorn. RIGHT: Franklin Hill Vineyard.

    Aardvark

Once I am out of the building I am venture onto Broad Street. Perfect! I can cross the street and find two of my favorite home stores, Brownstone Design and Vintage Flair. I pop into Vintage Flare to find a mix of old and new. I know I will find great gifts! I am stoked to find the coolest pillows. There are gifts galore! Lenox elephant salt and pepper shakers, wooden bottle stoppers—so much!

My next stop is The Gem Shop. This is the spot for a large assortment of gifts like gloves, hats, soaps, and jewelry. Speaking of jewelry, I found great costume pieces with the Bethlehem Star on them!

Now, most of us know that Donegal Square has all things Celtic. Maybe you are not Irish or not into that. I get it. But, they have one of my all-time favorites, Harris Tweed! This is a great gift for that person who has everything. The quality is amazing and the patterns are beautiful. If you have never purchased Harris Tweed, now is the time to stop by and check it out. You’ll find it all at Donegal Square!

I am making my way down Main Street and do not have to be worried about meter parking (hooray for parking in the garage!). I “pop” into Clusters Popcorn (haha, pop!). Anyway, popcorn is great to add to other gifts or to grab an item for someone that loves delicious treats. Or, if you are me, you grab a snack for the rest of your shopping excursion. You will find really different, and unique, flavors. My personal favorite is coconut.

Last stop on this side of the street is for my furry friend. Bone Appetit has all of the best dog items you can find. I buy my little guy a buffalo check vest and matching blanket. You know my dog has to look good, I am in fashion! And for my other best dog friends, naughty and nice cookies! They seriously have the best selection!

Time to cross the street and make my way back. I weave in and out of some of my other favorites like The Steel Beam and Domaci.

I get to the end of the street, Broad Street and Main Street, and go into Main Street Commons. Franklin Hill Vineyards has the local wine I’ll stock up for extra (emergency) gifts. I love the cider and it makes a great bubbly for New Year’s Eve—If I don’t drink it all before then!

Aardvark is my next stop. I’ll admit, this is more for me! I have seen their ad on Facebook for the new Asics Nimbus 20. Oh, and they have them in stock! Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is the Asics Nimbus 20 in size 8.5. Sincerely, Kristina XOXO. Anyway, if you have a running lover in your family, they have the latest and greatest! Or you can grab a gift card to help them get started. They will love you for life! (I would anyway…)

That was a lot of shopping! But, I could keep going. I have checked off everyone on my list and then some. Plus, I shopped small business and supported our local downtown. Like I promised myself, I’ll grab that drink at Edge Restaurant and toast to a job well done. Don’t forget to use #figbethlehem for your unique gifts on Instagram! Happy shopping!
