ArtsQuest to Bring New Editorial Feature to Fig Bethlehem

Fig Bethlehem and ArtsQuest are strengthening their Community Partnership to give you the inside scoop on great events happening at this creative epicenter.

“ArtsQuest is a bottomless resource for arts, culture, education, and community programming in Bethlehem,” said Kiera Wilhelm, Director of Fig Bethlehem. “We love all the creative opportunities they bring to our town, and we’re so pleased to call them a Fig Community Partner.”

Fig is excited to announce that starting this spring, ArtsQuest Marketing Director Jon Lunger will team with Fig to create regular feature stories regarding upcoming shows, festivals, films, and more, offered on the ArtsQuest campuses—especially those that happen outside the Mainstage spotlight.

“I’m so excited to be teaming up with Fig to shine a light on some of the under-the-radar awesomeness we have going on at SteelStacks and at the Banana Factory Arts Center,” said Jon Lunger, Director of Marketing at ArtsQuest. “From alt/indie comedy shows to thought provoking art installations, there’s so many wonderful things for Fig Bethlehem readers to discover—and I can’t wait to tell them about it!”

Readers will be able to discover each feature on FigBethlehem.com and by subscribing to Fig Bethlehem’s weekly eblast, Datebook, to be the first to know about these exciting happenings right here in the community.

“There’s so much going on at SteelStacks and Banana Factory each week, it’s hard to keep track,” added Kiera. “This is a fantastic opportunity to stay on top of all they have to offer, especially the programs that are a bit off the beaten path—events that you might not otherwise know about, but definitely should!”

ArtsQuest strives to provide the Lehigh Valley with a variety of cultural, musical, artistic, and community experiences. And this, Jon said, is what will be shared in these exciting updates.

“We’re going to curate some most-excellent shows and events to feature,” said Jon. “So that you’ll quickly become the person everyone turns to when they’re looking for some fun in Bethlehem.”

The partnership began with a desire to showcase even more of the diverse and engaging cultural opportunities here in the Lehigh Valley.

“Jon’s on top of all the creative and quirky events taking place at ArtsQuest,” said Kiera. “And since he’s pretty creative and quirky himself, what better resource than he to give us the inside scoop? We’re thrilled to add this regular feature to our Datebook and we know our readers will love it, too—and Jon’s voice will make it a really fun read.”

“I like to think of Fig as the cool kid in the neighborhood,” added Jon. “You know that person who always knows about that indie band coming through town before anyone else? That’s Fig, so this collaboration is truly exciting.”

Mission: ArtsQuest is a Bethlehem-based nonprofit dedicated to presenting music, arts, festivals, cultural experiences and educational and outreach programs that aid in economic development, urban revitalization and community enrichment. Through festivals such as its flagship event, Musikfest; the Banana Factory Arts Center; and the ArtsQuest Center and SteelStacks arts and cultural campus, ArtsQuest’s programming reaches more than 1.5 million people annually. The organization’s programs and events, approximately 65 percent of which are free to attend, have a combined economic impact of more than $100 million annually in the region.
