    Hello Scranton!

Downtown Scranton is in the midst of a revival!

In the past 10 years, Scranton’s downtown has undergone a commercial, architectural, and cultural revitalization. Residential conversion of historic buildings has brought more people living downtown than ever before, and commercial spaces are being reimagined as mixed-use spaces for residents and visitors. With its fantastic dining options, diversity, walkability, and a vibrant arts scene, Downtown Scranton draws hundreds of thousands of people each year with events like First Fridays, The Scranton Jazz Festival, Italian Festival, and Broadway in Scranton. Located two hours from Philadelphia and New York City and just one hour from Bethlehem, Scranton is the epicenter for Northeast Pennsylvania, with easy access to the interstate and turnpike.

Visit Scranton this summer—come say hello, and see for yourself!

    The AV 320, Penn Avenue

AV Restaurant offers a seasonally driven, Italian-influenced menu featuring grilled, braised, and roasted meats, fresh seafood, house made pastas, and locally sourced produce, created by Chef Patrick Quinn. Additionally, AV features a carefully curated wine list representing every major wine producing region of the world, turn-of-the-century and contemporary cocktails, and a large selection of local and imported craft beers. With its soaring 15’ ceilings, exposed brick walls, and candlelit dining room, AV offers a warm, convivial atmosphere to everyone from the solo diner to large groups celebrating a special occasion.

The Peculiar Slurp Shop, 307 Penn Avenue

Husband-wife team Gene and Miranda Philbin started Peculiar Culinary back in 2012 by hosting pop-up dinners and catered events around the Northeastern PA area. They added a food truck in 2015 (which was a frequent visitor to the LV!), and after a couple of television appearances on the Food Network and CNBC, they decided it was time to open their first “brick and mortar” shop in 2018. Their menu consists of Asian-inspired noodle bowls such as the Pork Belly Shoyu and Lemon Shio w/ Chicken Katsu, a new Poke menu, bao buns, and daily features—plus imported Japanese sodas and teas, local coffee and honey soda, a full craft beer selection, and sake, wine, and cocktail menu.

    Wandering Hen, 305 Penn Avenue

Owner Amanda Banta opened Wandering Hen with a desire to provide Scranton and the surrounding communities with a unique breakfast and lunch dining experience not found anywhere else in Northeast PA. Using only the finest ingredients and best local food available, Wandering Hen sources sustainable ingredients from farmers—providing guests with the most nutrient-dense produce and humanely-raised proteins. The team at Wandering Hen looks forward to meeting you soon, with thanks for your support!

Electric City Bakehouse, 314 Penn Avenue

Electric City Bakehouse is a modern cakery specializing in deliciously innovative designs. Because they customize your cakes and cupcakes based on your unique needs and style, Electric City can create a cake or cupcake buffet for any size party. With flavors such as Maple Bacon, Red Velvet, Fruity Pebbles, Lemon Thyme, Southern Banana Cream Pie, S’mores, and more—there’s something for everyone!

Bar Pazzo 131, North Washington Avenue

Bar Pazzo is a locally owned, rustic style Italian restaurant led by Chef John Tabone. Featuring an open, energetic kitchen where guests can watch their meals be prepared from start to finish, it’s a casual dining atmosphere perfect for lunch, a dinner date, or a special family occasion. Bar Pazzo’s chef-driven concept is stubbornly simple: they pride themselves on using the freshest available ingredients, combined with regional Italian cooking techniques. They do everything “in house”, including pizzas from their two Mugnaini wood fired ovens, salumi, breads, pastries, gelato, and more.
