Something New Is Coming To Allentown!

Something big is coming to downtown Allentown on September 19, and it’s bringing doughnuts, espresso, poke bowls, artisan pizza and—oh, by the way—a Food Network star.

Introducing the Downtown Allentown Market, a 12,000-square-foot food and drink hall with nine local, regional and national merchants offering creative, fast-casual concepts. With a vibrant location on the ArtsWalk, bright murals, pop-up shops, fun events and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, the Market is sure to become your new favorite spot to connect with friends and family.

Sushi from Shinsen, doughnuts from Doughnut Love, and sandwiches and tacos from Licensed 2 Grill!

The Market is one more exciting development in downtown Allentown’s continuing revitalization, thanks to City Center Investment Corp., the real estate developer behind five office towers, the Renaissance Allentown Hotel, seven residential communities and many unique restaurants and shops, such as The Hamilton Kitchen and Sorrelli Jewelry

Vendors for the Market represent new and familiar faces from around the Lehigh Valley and beyond: Zahra is a Middle Eastern and Mediterranean concept from the owners of longtime local favorite Aladdin; sushi and poke bowls at Shinsen will come from the owners of Asian Bistros II; Little Miss Korea, from Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market, will offer authentic, fresh Korean bowls; and Emmaus’s Licensed 2 Grill @ The Market will serve in a Southern-diner style. There’s also signature pasta and pizza from fresh-face Tavola; fine baked goods and coffee from Doughnut Love; super-premium ice cream from Batch Microcreamery; and craft-distilled spirits, beers and wine from Boardroom Spirits.

Luscious hummus and Mediterranean dishes from Zahra!

And last, but certainly not least, celebrity chef Robert Irvine – a 30-year culinary industry expert, British Royal Navy veteran, cookbook author and star of Restaurant: Impossible, A Hero’s Welcome, and Worst Cooks in America, among other Food Network favorites – will be opening Fresh Kitchen by Robert Irvine in the Market. At Fresh Kitchen, customers will watch their food being prepared in full view at the counter – dishes that embody the essence of today’s diner, prepared fresh at a reasonable price from a highly creative menu tailored to daytime workers and residents alike. Irvine himself will appear at the market several times a year. “I’m a huge believer in fresh food,” he says. “I think you have to celebrate freshness; you have to celebrate life. All that I do is geared toward that.”

So, this season celebrate fresh – and celebrate local – with all the tasty new possibilities in downtown Allentown. “City Center is so excited to bring this project to life,” says Natalia Stezenko, City Center’s Retail Leasing and Activation Manager. “City Center regularly surveys its residential and office tenants about what they’d like to experience in downtown Allentown, and an authentic, local food hall always tops their wish list. We are thrilled with all nine of our merchants and can’t wait to share their concepts with the public.”

Celebrate fresh and local with Korean dumplings from Little Miss Korea, cocktails from Boardroom Spirits, and a frozen treat from Batch Microcreamery!

Meet you at the Downtown Allentown Market this fall!
